London: Saucy snaps of former Celtic starlet Paul Slane apparently romping with a mystery girl have sparked a Twitter sensation. The X-rated photos seem to show crocked winger Slane, 21, in a steamy clinch with a curvy brunette.
According to the Sun.co.uk report, Last night the embarrassed player admitted it was his face in the naughty shots, which popped up on his Twitter account.
But he insisted it had been pasted on to someone else’s body with computer trickery.
Slane said: “It was a prank by my mates. They got hold of my phone and they must have put pictures up.
“I don’t know how they did it. It was just a bit of banter, a good laugh.” He added: “The pictures, I think they’ve been photoshopped. They must have put my face on something. It’s not my body.
“My friends are pretty good at that. I don’t know how they work it. They are high up in computing and know tricks that people don’t.”
The pictures first appeared on the Twitter account on Friday and have now been deleted.
One image also appeared to show Slane — who was on loan at Partick Thistle until January — looking worse for wear outside Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport.
A caption claimed he ended up in Holland after a night out at a club in Glasgow.
It said: “Left Common at 3, ended up in Amsterdam at 7.”
And the raunchy bedroom shots sparked claims by users of the social networking site that the ex-Celtic player had been in the city’s famous red-light district.
@SaintJimmy87 tweeted: “If that really is Paul Slane’s Twitter account, he is in some serious trouble tomorrow #celtic.”
Another posted: “Paul Slane is gonna regret those photos in the morning haha! #lad.”
Slane — thought to be nursing a hip injury and awaiting an operation — left Thistle in January.
A spokesman for Celtic confirmed yesterday that he had been released by the Parkhead club.
