Missile developer BrahMos Aerospace would venture into manufacturing of cryogenic engine, used for GSLV launches to put heavier satellites in the orbit, after the critical and complex technology was mastered by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a function here, distinguished scientist and BrahMos Managing Director Dr A Sivathanu Pillai said the Indian Space Agency has asked the BrahMos to manufacture cryogenic engine for its GSLV missions.
''At present, ISRO is developing the indigenous cryogenic engine and the stage for future GSLV mission. Once ISRO perfects the technology, BrahMos Aerospace will start manufacturing Cryogenic engine for ISRO'', he added.
The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary BrahMos Aerospace Thiruvanthapuram Limited (BATL), which was manufacturing liquid fuel powered engines and fuel tanks for rockets, would make the cryogenic engine, he added.
