Naomi Campbell writes against racism in fashion world, letter to Victoria on racial issues London: It takes a lot of courage get on the bad side of a fierce diva like Naomi Campbell. The iconic supermodel happens to be the leader of fashion industry advocate group Diversity Coalition, which calls for more people of color in fashion shows.

According to sources, Campbell has called out Victoria Beckham for not including models of other races during her runway shows. NY Post reports: Supermodel Naomi Campbell called out her friend Victoria Beckham for only having one model of color in her presentation during February’s New York Fashion Week.

But Campbell revealed to the UK’s Daily Mirror that she phoned the Spice Girl-turned-fashion designer personally about the matter.

Despite Campbell's notorious reputation, it's still pretty cool that she'd talk openly about such issues with her powerful friends.

The pair have repaired their relationship after they first fell out in 2000 when Naomi questioned why Victoria was known as 'Posh'.

Victoria later responded by calling her nemesis a 'massive cow' in her TV show, Victoria's Secrets.

They made up eight years later when Victoria got involved in Naomi's Fashion for Relief Flood campaign and from then the duo remained close.

In 2010, Naomi said: 'I love Victoria Beckham's dresses. I've worn many of them before. I've also got her jeans. I love her work and she's a great friend and mother.'

The passionate model is part of the anti-racism Diversity Coalition along with David Bowie's model wife Iman and agent, Bethann Hardison.

Along with her Coalition colleagues, Naomi has put her name to an open letter to the governing bodies of the fashion industries in New York, London, Paris and Milan, which highlights the lack of non-white models used in New York Fashion Week.

It lists 'fashion houses guilty of this racist act' and includes Victoria Beckham among a list of other designers such as Calvin Klein, Chanel, Armani, Gucci and Donna Karan, to name a few.

The model is also currently winning new fans as a judge on Sky Living's The Face UK, a modelling competition series, alongside two other supermodel coaches, Caroline Winberg and Erin O'Connor.

Naomi showed the public her softer side when she was interviewed on The Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday night.

Naomi discussed became emotional when discussing her past anger issues and told the TV host: 'Anger is an emotion. There were things I had to deal with. You have to deal with it.'

She added: 'I'm crying, you made me cry!'

Meanwhile Victoria has been nominated for two awards at the British Fashion Awards.

The 39-year-old designer is in the running for both the Brand of the Year and Red Carpet Designer prizes after being recognised for her contribution to the industry over the past year.

Christopher Kane, Phoebe Philo of Celine, and Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen are set to go head-to-head for the Womenswear Designer of the Year award.

Models Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell and Sam Rollinson will be competing for this year's Model of the Year trophy which will be announced at the event at the London Colliseum on December 2,

Last year's double winner Stella McCartney - who walked away with Designer of the Year and Designer Brand in 2012 - has been royally snubbed with zero nominations this year.
