Los Angeles: She recently appeared scantily clad alongside Rihanna in her latest music video, Can't Remember To Forget You.
But - as a mother and wife - Shakira has walked a fine line between sexy, sensual and smouldering in promotional pictures for her latest album release.
Posing in a series of pictures which range from suggestive to classically simple, the images will no doubt delight fans and record company bosses alike.
In one image the 37 year-old Colombian can be seen wearing a knotted bra top as she suggestively unzips the rest of her outfit.
In another, framed by a cascade of blonde, curled hair, she can be seen lounging in a ceramic bathtub as she elongates a lipstick.
Wearing a black and white dress, she looks effortlessly stylish as she rests barefoot on the rim.
In another shot she can be seen wearing a tight black sleeved top and stockings - without a skirt. But, despite this, her pose retains a level of sophistication as she positions her legs modestly.
Yet, perhaps the most impressive aspect of the photoshoot is that the star looks no older than when she launched her first global single in 2001.
But this month's latest return to form will actually be her tenth studio album. Simply titled Shakira and released on 26 March, it also marks her first chart return since motherhood.
Speaking in 2011 she said: 'I already started to write new material. I've begun to explore in the recording studio whenever I have time in Barcelona and here in Miami. I'm working with different producers and DJs, and I try to feed off from that and find new sources of inspiration and new musical motivation. I'm anxious to return to the studio. My body is asking for it.'
Fans have already been treated to the first single from the LP - Shakira's duet with Rihanna: Can't Remember To Forget You.
Earlier this month Shakira insisted the Bajan beauty was the 'perfect' person to sing on the track – despite admitting her friend is a 'big diva'.
However, she insists the 26-year-old star is 'very down to earth' and often exchanges text messages with her, but they rarely get to meet up because of their hectic lives.
She told The Sun on Sunday newspaper's Dan Wootton: 'She is still the girl next door - approachable and humble. We are friends and text each other, but our lives are in different geographic places. She’s quite a busy woman and so am I.'
The pair's raunchy appearance in the music video for their duet certainly appealed to the Colombian singer's boyfriend Gerard Pique, who recently banned the blonde beauty from featuring hunky men in her music videos.
She added to the publication: 'He approved! I played the video for him and asked him if it was too much. But he said he thought it was great and elegant. He loved it.'
Shakira - who has 14-month-old son Milan with the Barcelona footballer – also admits she loves being a girlfriend of a soccer star and wouldn't have it any other way.
She added: 'I never knew I would be so proud to be a WAG. But I am one of them — and very happy about it.'
The 37-year-old star met Pique a year after his 2010 World Cup success with Spain, a tournament for which she recorded the official song, Waka Waka.
Shakira admits she respects the life footballers have to live, insisting Pique is like a 'soldier' who gives all his time and focus to the team.
And the Colombian beauty is planning to cheer on both her boyfriend and her national team at the World Cup in Brazil later this summer.
What's more, the star is expecting the couple's son Milan to follow his father into football rather her into showbiz, despite the youngster already making his TV debut last year on the US version of The Voice, on which she is a coach.
