Nawaz Sharif govt's ratings better than previous regime: Poll Islamabad: Pakistan's Nawaz Sharif-led government's performance ratings, including on ties with India, are much better than the previous regime, according to the country's leading pollster.

"There is an improvement of 59 per cent points in the rating of overall performance of the present government. Nawaz government gets a 'Green Card' (favourable views exceed unfavourable views) in overall running of the government, as 55 per cent give a favourable rating," Gallop Pakistan said in a statement.

The study is based on findings from what it terms as "a nationally representative poll" in the rural and urban areas of all the four provinces of Pakistan.

For the six key indicators including economy, Pakistan- India relations, overall foreign policy, terrorism control, corruption control and inflation control, the PML-N government received positive comparative net performance ratings.

"Economy recorded a positive 48 per cent comparative net performance, Pakistan-India relations 22 per cent, foreign policy 33 per cent, terrorism control 31 per cent, corruption control 36 per cent and inflation control recorded a positive 20 per cent net change," the survey said.

Gallup Pakistan survey shows that the government's performance still gets a 'Red Card' on controlling inflation, terrorism and corruption.

However, the 'Red Card' is not as dark as the one received by the Pakistan People's Party-led government a year ago, the statement said. Another aspect covered by the Gallup Pakistan Survey is the performance of Chief Ministers of the four provinces.

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif topped the list by obtaining 26 per cent overall net performance rating.

Shahbaz improved his performance by 6 per cent as compared to 2013.
