Will send all offenders to prison, free country of criminals: Modi Hardoi: BJP leader Narendra Modi Monday said that if he comes to power, he will free the country of criminals by sending all offenders to prison.

"I have decided that after May 16, once the election result is declared and the new government is formed, I will examine the affidavits of all winning MPs to find out about their criminal records. I won't leave even the BJP and NDA candidates. I will then tell the Supreme Court to punish all the criminals," Modi said, addressing an election rally here.

"This way, I will clean parliament and make the country free of criminals. No person with a criminal record will be able to rule the country then," said the Gujarat chief minister.

Then hitting at Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Modi said he makes fun of poverty and the poor people.

"Rahul (bhaiyya) goes to see poverty. One who doesn't know what poverty is, has to go and see it. But he goes to see poverty taking along media persons and makes fun of poor people," the BJP's prime ministerial candidate said.Modi added that he knows what it is to be poor and grow up in poverty.

“Congress ne desh ki Gadi aise gehre khadde mein dala hai ki mujhe bahut log chahiye ise bahar nikalne ke liye, (Congress has put the nation in such a deep trench that I need support of more people to bring it out),“ he added.

Modi also came down heavily on the Congress chief, Sonia Gandhi and asked the gathering, “Do you want a government in Delhi which runs with the oxygen provided by the mother and the son?

Further attacking Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, Modi said, “He can't take care of Amethi, how can he run the country. Don't you need a strong government at the Centre?”

The Gujarat Chief Minister also compared Rahul Gandhi's much-publicised visits to the houses of Dalits and poor with tourists visiting the Taj Mahal in UP.

In a stern warning to corrupt leaders, Modi said, “I want a Parliament free from criminals. I won't spare a single convicted politician."

“Be it BJP, NDA or any other party, no one will be spared. Those who have committed crimes must be punished, “Modi thundered at the rally.

Amid chants of 'Modi' 'Modi', the Gujarat Chief Minister said, “If we form the government, I will make sure criminals do not enter Parliament, even if they're from BJP or NDA, thorough probe and action will be taken against them.”

The BJP's PM nominee said that he is not bothered about the safety of his life and victory and defeat of his party in these elections but whatever happens he will never compromise with his principles.

“I am not bothered if I win or lose. I will never compromise with my principles. I will make committees to look into criminal cases of people,” Modi said.

Besides, Hardoi, Modi is expected to address several rallies in Etah, Hathras, Firozabad and Mathura today.

Modi will be campaigning for Bollywood actress and party candidate from Mathura Hema Malini.

Modi will be seeking support for the yesteryear "dream girl" at two places in Mathura and will also address a rally for Rajveer Singh, son of former UP chief minister Kalyan Singh at Etah, SP Singh Baghel (Firozabad).

Firozabad is a high stakes seat for the ruling Samajwadi Party (SP) as Akshay Pratap Singh, son of senior party leader Ram Gopal Yadav is the party candidate from here.

Akhsay is the cousin of UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and nephew of SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. The ruling party has pulled all stops to ensure his victory.

Questioning the ruling Samajwadi Party government in Uttar Pradesh, he said: "Public have to keep guns. The government here has to answer now as to why do people have to live in such fear."
