Principal and a teacher arrested for 'sexually abusing' a 13- year- old specially-abled student Mumbai: The Mumbai police have arrested a principal and a teacher of a school for specially-abled children in Central Mumbai on charges of sexually abusing a student.

The arrest was made on Wednesday after the parents of a 13- year- old hearing-and-speech impaired student lodged a complaint with the Mumbai police through their lawyer.

The victim in her complaint has alleged that she was molested on numerous occasions by the principal. In her complaint, she also alleged that her teacher used to show her objectionable pictures.

"The victim in her complaint has alleged that on the pretext of giving her a chocolate, the principal had repeatedly sexually abused the child. The teacher used to take her to an isolated corner in the school premises and show her obscene pictures," senior police inspector of Dadar police station, Nishikant Patil told this reporter.

A former student, who came to know of the incident, met the victim's parents and informed them about their daughter's ordeal. As the school management took no action, the parents lodged a case through their lawyer.

The two have been booked under various sections of Indian Penal Code (IPC) and that Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences Act.

"The girl in her complaint has alleged that a few other students were also molested by the duo. With the help of a translator, we will record the statements of the other students. We are also studying the CCTV footage of the school to see if we can get any relevant footage in connection with our case," Mr.Patil added.
