'Game of Thrones' gets permission to film nude scene Los Angeles: A church in the Croatian city of Dubrovnik had reportedly barred Lena Heady's Cersei Lannister from shooting a nude Game Of Thrones scene through the city's streets.

But now, town officials are said to have apparently had a change of heart.

According to TMZ, officials have green-lighted the pivotal 'walk of shame' from the Croatian city's famous Church of St. Nicholas through town - but only on the condition that she does not set foot in the church.

A compromise has been reached, according to the website, because scenic Dubrovnik - which doubles as King's Landing - doesn't want to anger HBO, which has brought jobs to the region.

The church scene will still be filmed, but on a fake set and Cersei will be shown walking through Stadun street to the Sponza Palace.

The scene is said to be pivotal to the series' storyline and has a strong relevance to the original source material –George R.R. Martin’s novel A Dance With Dragons, the fifth of seven from his Song Of Fire And Ice series.

The author recently spoke out about the level of attention he has received as a result of the show, which originally launched on premium cable channel HBO in 2011.

'A few years ago I came to Edinburgh wife my wife and we were able to listen to the street musicians and go to plays and comedy performances and the military Tattoo,’ he told The Guardian. ‘And, in the whole week we were here, maybe three people recognised me, and I was happy to sign an autograph for them.

'Now, three or four people recognise me every block. I can't go out any more; I can't walk the streets. And it's great to have all these readers and fans who, for the most part, are very nice people, saying they love the books and the TV show.

'But there are so many of them and it just doesn't end. Oh, and 'selfies'! If I could clap my hands and burn out every camera phone in the world, I swear I'd do it!'

Martin made the comment while discussing how success has changed his life both for the better and worse.

Interestingly, he began writing professionally in the 1960s but only enjoyed real commercial achievement when the first four novels of his series A Song of Ice and Fire became Game of Thrones.

The following two series of the show will only become a reality once he has physically written the novels, including The Winds Of Winter and A Dream Of Spring - neither of which has a release date.

Series 5 of the HBO series will air in April 2015.
