New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee has strongly condemned the tragic attack by left wing extremists on security personnel in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh yesterday.
In his message to Shri Balramji Das Tandon, the Governor of Chhattisgarh, the President has said "I am shocked and dismayed to learn about the tragic attack by left wing extremists on security personnel in Sukma District of Chhattisgarh yesterday in which a number of persons belonging to CRPF have lost their lives and suffered injuries.
I condemn this act of violence on our security forces in the strongest of terms and call upon authorities concerned to spare no efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice as soon as possible.
In this moment of grief, I offer my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families of the victims. I call upon the State Government and other agencies to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families who have lost their near and dear ones as well as medical assistance to the injured, whom I wish speedy recovery”.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday night condemned the Naxal strike in Chhattisgarh in which 13 CRPF peronnel were killed and said words are not enough to deplore the “brutal” and “inhuman” attack by “anti-national elements.”
“Words are not enough to condemn the brutal and inhuman attack by anti-national elements in Sukma, Chhattisgarh. I salute the courageous CRPF personnel who have been martyred today. Our thoughts are with the families of those who lost their loved ones.
“Have spoken to Home Minister @BJPRajnathSingh & Chhattisgarh CM @drramansingh. We are monitoring the situation closely,” the PM tweeted.
Maoists today killed 13 CRPF personnel, including two officers, and injured an equal number in the second attack on the force in 10 days in the same area in the Naxal hotbed of Sukma district in the state.
