Bihar: Rail and road traffic was hit in Bihar after Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists enforced a dawn-to-dusk bandh to protest last week’s police crackdown during their march in Patna on March 26.
ABVP activists blocked trains at Patna, Ara among other places to protest against the ‘collapse’ of education system in Bihar. The activists also blocked highways at many places across the state.
Last week, ABVP activists had gathered at R-Block and tried to march towards the Vidhan Sabha. The situation took a turn for the worse after the police blocked them to prevent them from breaking the security cordon.
The police had resorted to lathicharge and firing to disperse the crowd that had started to pelt stones. The incident had left nearly 100 injured.
