Miss India winners overwhelmed by hometown visit New Delhi: Femina Miss India 2015 winners -- Aditi Arya, Aafreen Rachel Vaz and Vartika Singh -- were overwhelmed after they visited their hometowns where they were greeted by proud friends and family.

Aditi, who was crowned Miss India World 2015 returned to the capital after her victory at the beauty pageant, which was held last month, and was welcomed by her family, friends and well-wishers.

“It is an extremely happy and overwhelming moment for me. The love and respect I have received today makes me feel so special, and winning this crown without the support of my family, friends and my office management wouldn’t have been possible," Aditi, who is currently working with audit firm Ernst & Young, said in a statement.

Aafreen, first runner-up of Miss India 2015, also visited her hometown Mangalore.

“It is really heart-warming to see so many well-wishers and be welcomed like a queen in my own city. The love and endless support of my family and friends have made this dream possible for me,” she said.

Aafreen also met Maharashtra Navnirman Sena president Raj Thackeray and discussed a few social causes with him. A cause close to her heart, EDBF movement (Early Detection for a Better Future) was brought to his notice.

On the lighter side, Thackeray also shared with her his interests of reading books, sketching and drawing.

Vartika, second runner-up of Miss India 2015, visited her hometown Lucknow. She also met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and his wife Dimple Yadav.

The chief minister and Vartika discussed the mediums to smoothen the progress of the state with the use of technology, especially in the health sector. Vartika expressed her wish to remain rooted to her state and to work hand in hand with the government towards a better and brighter Uttar Pradesh.

“This is a very exciting and happy moment for me as I can share my happiness with my family, friends and people of my city. Before this contest I was only my parents’ daughter, but now I feel like I am whole city's daughter. This success would not have been possible without their support,” said Vartika.
