Mann ki Baat: PM Modi empathises with Nepal, assures support from India New Delhi: This is the seventh edition of the radio programme initiated in October last year in which the Prime Minister shares his thoughts with the people of the country.

Highlights:

In the last few days wherever I went, we were applauded for our efforts in evacuating nationals of different countries. In Yemen as well, Indian forces did a great job in rescuing people from all nations amid heavy firing.

Lot of destruction has taken place due to earthquake in Nepal and India.

Earthquake effects in Nepal are horrific

In Sunday's episode of his monthly radio programme Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured every possible help to the quake-hit Nepal and said that India is with it at this time of crisis.

Modi has already interacted directly with the people in the earlier six editions of 'Mann Ki Baat'.

"He has dwelt upon several issues close to the hearts of the people such as Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, promotion of khadi, skill development, scholarship for disabled children, infrastructure for educational institutions, menace of drugs and the issues related to farmers," a PMO statement said.

In the last edition broadcast on March 22, he had shared the concerns of farmers and said the government will take proper and prompt steps to resolve their problems and do its level best to help them tide over difficult situation.

Earlier in January, he also shared the 'Mann Ki Baat' forum with US President Barack Obama during his visit here when the two leaders interacted with the people on a host of issues.
