Where was Rahul Gandhi when Congress ruled Maharashtra for 15 years: Shiv Sena Mumbai: Days after Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi visited Maharashtra's Vidarbha region to raise the farmers' suicide issue, Shiv Sena on Tuesday took a pot shot at the Congress leader.

Shiv Sena, in its editorial, has hit out at the Amethi MP, saying the Congress which ruled Maharashtra for 15 years did nothing for the interest of farmers.

Why is Rahul now raking up issues like waiver of farm loans and appropriate prices of farm produce, where was he when his party was in power in the state for three decades, the editorial mentioned.

The Sena's editorial also targeted NCP supremo Sharad Pawar. Taking a dig at the former union agriculture minister, the editorial said that suddenly the NCP chief's eyes have opened and now he is concerned about farmers' condition.

The editorial further slammed Haryana Minister Om Prakash Dhankar for saying that farmers who commit suicide are cowards.

Rahul Gandhi, who has amplified his tirade against the Narendra Modi government over farmers' issues, had last week braved the sweltering heat when he strode the distance of 20 km as part of his 'kisan padyatra' in Amravati district to interact with the kin of farmers who have committed suicide due to agrarian crisis.

During his day-long 'padyatra', Rahul visited five villages and met family members of at least nine farmers who have killed themselves.

In total, Rahul visited five villages between Gunji to Tonglabad, wherein he spoke to people who greeted him and sought to know their problems and the issues affecting them.
