No place as beautiful as Kashmir, says Salman Khan Srinagar: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan thanked his fans for their prayers and good wishes during his difficult times. Speaking to press first time after the Mumbai high court suspending his jail term of five years in the 2002 hit-and-run case, Salman said, "He owed it to his fans for their support and good wishes."

“All I want to say to you guys is I owe it to you. I appreciate all this although I don’t think I deserved this,” he said.

Salman asked his fans to take out time to “pray for their own selves as well.” The superstar, however, made a promise that he will try to raise his bar and keep doing good things.

Khan, who spoke to the press with a pre-condition that there would be no questions on the verdict or the case, seemed more in a tourism promotional mood. Preferring not to answer questions about the recent events in his life. He said, “His problems are too small.”

“The problems in my life are too small we are here to talk about Kashmir,” he said.

Dressed in a black Pathani suit, Salman, who was on a shooting schedule of 40 days in the Valley, expressed his desire to shoot again in the Kashmir Valley.

“We tried to come here to shoot for Dabang, but that did not happen. However, we will like to come back again to shoot.”  The Bollywood star hoped that his Kashmir visit will help send positive message and more people will come to Kashmir. He called  “Kashmir visit a must for everybody.”

Calling the Valley “the most beautiful place on the planet earth,” he said, “We used to go to Switzerland or other places to shoot, but I must say there is no place as beautiful as Kashmir.”

“The place is beautiful, the people are beautiful, very simple and very well mannered,” he added. “Everbody should visit Kashmir at least once before he dies,” the superstar said. Talking about his film Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman said, “The film is larger than life, heart-warming and entertaining.”

He said Kashmir would be part of the story but the film is more on peaceful Kashmir than insurgency.  Confirming that the film would be an Eid release, Salman said that he believes in playing larger than life characters. “I try to play larger than life characters and try to imbibe their goodness and bravery in my own life,” he said.
