Monsoon hits Jharkhand

Ranchi: The Ranchi office of Indian Meteorological Department has officially declared that monsoon has finally arrived in Jharkhand and it will further strengthen leading to moderate to heavy showers in isolated parts of the State.

According to the IMD’s office, the present system of monsoon has covered eastern and south-eastern parts of Jharkhand which includes Ranchi, Simdega, Saraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, Khunti, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Dumka, Pakur and Sahibganj.“Monsoon has covered eastern and south-eastern parts of Jharkhand.

In next 24-48 hours it will cover remaining areas of the State,” said Director IMD, BK Mondal.The met office predicted that heavy rains would occur on June 23 and 24 including at places where it is slightly delayed compared to other parts of Jharkhand. Mondal said, despite late arrival the monsoon would be just enough for the agriculture activities of the State.
