5.6 magnitude earthquake strikes Assam

New Delhi: Earthquake of magnitude 5.6 on richter scale struck Assam on Sunday morning at around 6.40am. Tremors were felt in Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal and eastern part of India.
The epicentre of the earthquake is reported to be in 23km north of Basugaon in Assam.
The quake was of moderate intensity, according to Indian Meteorological Department. No damage has been reported.
