Skydive Dubai plane carrying 15 skydiver makes emergency landing Dubai: A plane carrying 15 skydivers was forced to make an emergency landing after the aircraft developed a “technical” problem shortly after takeoff.

According to the National report, the incident took place on Tuesday at around 8am as the Cessna Caravan plane, operated by SkyDive Dubai, made its way over the desert.

No one was injured during the emergency landing near the company’s inland campus. However, pictures on social media show the plane crashed into the side of a sand dune with smoke rising from the fuselage. In another shot, the burnt-out remains of the aircraft are clearly visible.

The landing was confirmed in a statement on the Skydive Dubai Desert Campus Facebook page.

“On 7th of July 2015 at 8am one of Skydive Dubai’s Planes Cessna Caravan plane, carrying 15 skydivers including the pilot, flying over the desert campus encountered a technical problem shortly after it had taken off,” said the statement.

“The experienced pilot however managed to land the plane safely, with all 15 passengers walking away unharmed.

“An official investigation is being carried out by the local authorities to source the cause of the incident and a detailed report will be shared upon the completion of the investigation.”

This is the second incident in recent months involving SkyDive Dubai. In April a Saudi Arabian man died during a skydive in Dubai.

Majed Al Shuaiby, 35, from Riyadh, fell to his death while on holiday with his two brothers.

An investigation into the incident was carried out by Skydive Dubai safety inspectors and Dubai Police. The outcome has not been released.
