AUDF to contest 86 seats in Assam

AUDF to contest 86 seats in Assam Silchar: The Assam United Democratic Front (AUDF) would contest from 86 constituencies in the coming Assembly elections in the state.

AUDF President Badaruddin Ajmal told reporters here today that the party had won 10 seats in the last Assembly polls but was confident of winning more seats in the ensuing polls, scheduled on April 4 and April 11 next.

The party candidates were in the second place in 12 seats and third in 17 seats in the last polls and no party could form the next government in the state by ignoring the AUDF, he asserted, adding the list of candidates will be announced on March 9.
