Tejashwi Yadav takes charge as Bihar Dy CM, says he won't tolerate corruption Patna: Lalu Prasad Yadav's 26-year-old Tejashwi Yadav took charge as Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar on Monday.

Addressing the media, Tejwashwi said, “We want to see Bihar as a modern state, a developed state.”

Yadav, who has been allotted the PWD ministry, said that his department's focus would on developing infrastructure.

“Roads should reach all villages and tolas...will speed up the construction of roads,” he said, adding, ““First I will take introduction (of bureaucrats) and then we will look at all the ongoing projects...(our) priority is development of Bihar.”

“We will do our work with honesty and those who indulge in corruption will be dealt with strongly,” Yadav stressed.

However, when Lalu Yadav's son Tejashwi Yadav was appointed Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, he was at the receiving end of criticism across different platforms including opposition parties and social media alike.

The newly appointed deputy CM of Bihar Tejashwi Yadav, however, responded to his critics in style. Tejashwi took to Twitter on Saturday to justify his appointment as Nitish Kumar’s deputy to be the right choice.

Tejashwi directly targeted the people who consider him incapable of the post and said, "I have two chief ministers in my family and I have seen how government's work. I may be inexperienced but I am not unaware. I will learn the trappings of how a government works under Nitish ji. How would you call me undeserving, I am an elected member of the house".

He also hit out at his critics in a series of tweets.

Tejashwi Yadav also clarified his position on twitter and tweeted that he will leave no stone unturned for development & to increase the value of Brand Bihar so that Nitish Kumar can be proud of me as his deputy. No one should try judging a book by its cover. Potential, like sweet nectar & bitter medicine takes time to show its real benefit.

Tejaswhi, who dropped out of school in class 9th, took oath as a minister in Bihar and was announced by Nitish as his deputy on Friday.
