Google in Cricket fever, search giant posts ICC World Twenty20 doodle

New Delhi: Welcoming the 2016 edition of the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup, search giant Google has posted a new doodle on its homepage.
The most anticipated cricket event, the ICC T20 Cricket World Cup will kick-start from March 8 and run till April 3. The tournament will be played across seven venues in India with 16 teams participating.
Today's Google doodle shows a cricket stadium packed with enthusiasts as two teams are seen playing.
The opening matches of the tournament are scheduled between Zimbabwe and Hong Kong at 3 PM and later between Scotland and Afghanistan at 7.30 PM on March 8. The opening matches will be played in Nagpur.
However, the Cricket lovers will witness epic encounter between India and Pakistan on March 19 in Dharmsahala.
A total of 58 tournament matches, including 35 men’s matches and 23 women’s matches, will be played in the 27-day tournament in Bengaluru, Chennai, Dharamsala, Kolkata, Mohali, Mumbai, Nagpur and New Delhi.
New Delhi and Mumbai will host the semi-finals on 30 and 31 March, respectively, while Eden Gardens in Kolkata will be the venue of the 3 April finals. The women’s semi-finals and final will be followed by the men’s knock-out matches. There is a reserve day for the finals.
