Google Doodle celebrates RD Burman's 77th birthday
New delhi: Google is celebrating the 77th birthday of legendary music composer, RD Burman. RD Burman is standing in front of a stylized sheet of music, which has scenes from his famous songs. He was widely known by his nickname, Pancham Da.

RD Burman was known for frequently collaborating with Asha Bhosle, Kishore Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar. He composed many of the songs that made these singers famous. The Lyrics for several of his hit compositions were written by Gulzar.

Over his career, he has bagged 18 nominations for Best Music Director in the Filmfare awards and won the award for three movies, Sanam Teri Kasam, Masoom and 1942: A Love Story. Two of these were won at the peak of his career in the mid 1980s, the last one was in the 1990s.

RD Burman was known for including a wide range of influences in his Hindi film music compositions. Although RD Burman used elements from electronic rock, disco, funk and jazz in his compositions, towards the end of his career, he faced competition from music composers who used synthesizers and electronic elements, such as Bappi Lahiri.

There are no details put up by Google on which Google Doodler drew this particular Google. The reach of this Doodle is only India, so it’s probable that this Google Doodle is exclusively for Indians.
