Indian Railways introduces new rules; 5 ways they will benefit a train traveller New Delhi: We take travel very seriously, and we know the importance Indian Railways plays in a traveller's life. Being one of the most important and economical modes of transportation in the country, it is crucial that you are updated on the latest developments in railways.

Indian Railways have changed certain rules and will put them to effect from July 1. Here are a few ways in which it will affect the lives of travellers.

Sudden plans are common in the life of a traveller. You can't afford to plan everything in advance. Starting July 1, you will get a 50 per cent refund of the amount you pay for a tatkal ticket. That's fair--at least spending on an alternative mode of travel won't hurt your pocket as much.

The frustrating concept of waiting list will be put to an end, in the case of Suvidha trains. Tickets will only be issued for confirmed and RAC passengers. This way, travellers will know if they need to make an alternative arrangement for reaching the desired destination.

Rajdhani and Shatabdi trains will have more coaches. This will surely increase your chances of getting a ticket during peak travel seasons.

IRCTC will start ticket bookings in various languages. This will surely increase the number of travellers as railway booking will become more accessible to people from all walks of life.

Passengers will get a 'wake up call destination' in the trains, thus making sure that a traveller never misses out on his station--even if he is fast asleep.
