National Women's Parliamentary Conference 2017: Andhra Pradesh to host 3-day event early next year New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Capital Amaravati is gearing up to host a three-day National Women's Parliamentary Conference beginning 10th of February 2017.

Buddhist spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has agreed to grace the occasion following a request from Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker, Kodela Shiva Prasad Rao who met him in New Delhi.

The national event is being jointly organized by Andhra Pradesh Assembly, State government and the Pune-based MIT School of Government. Women Speakers, Ministers, MPs and MLAs throughout the country are being invited to the conference. Rao also met Union Ministers  Nirmala Seetharaman, Venkaiah Naidu, Ashok Gajapati Raju and Srujana Choudhary and discussed about the conference.

Representatives of the MIT School of Government also met the Dalai Lama. The conference is aimed at empowering women excelling in all fields and sectors.

Eminent women personalities, both at national and international levels, are invited. President, Prime Minister, Lok Sabha Speaker, Bangladesh President and German Chancellor are also invited to the mega event.
