Mumbai: Alia Bhatt is one of those actors who has built her filmography that actresses her age can only think of doing! She had a dream debut, where she was launched by Karan Johar in Student of the Year and till date she remains a Dharma Productions darling! Even though her performance in SOTY mostly got negative reviews, she soon made tables turn with her performance in Highway, where she played Veera Tripathi, a girl with a troubled childhood. That was the moment she made us all fall in love with her.
Since then she had no turning back and has been churning out hits one after the other. She had a rather eventful year in 2016, with films like Udta Punjab, Kapoor & Sons and Dear Zindagi. Each role was so different from the other one and she played each of them like a pro! And she already has Badrinath ki Dulhaniya with Varun Dhawan and Dragon with Ranbir Kapoor. She surely is having the time of her life.
With no dearth of movie offers pouring in for Alia, she has now reportedly turned down Sanjay Dutt‘s comeback film, Bhoomi. It has been a long time we have not seen Sanjay Dutt on the big screen, because of his personal life. Ever since he has been released from jail, Dutt has been on talk with many filmmakers for upcoming projects. Since his next film will be his comeback project after a huge gap, he wants to be a part of the best project.
He has chosen Mary Kom director Omung Kumar’s film, titled Bhoomi, which has revolves around the father-daughter relationship. Apparently, Sanjay Dutt had approached Alia to play the role of his daughter, but Alia declined it.
With three big hits last year, Alia is the most sought after actress in Bollywood now. She is being bombarded with projects, and she is carefully picking her films. o when Sanjay Dutt wanted to rope her in for his comeback film, it was not a surprise. However, her refusal led Sanjay to talk to her mentor and first ever director Karan Johar, requesting him to try to influence Alia, but even that didn’t work out.
Not giving up hope, Sanjay Dutt has now approached Alia’s father Mahesh Bhatt as the last hope, but all those efforts went in vain! Alia has clearly rejected the film and is not interested in being a part of the project.
Now, we have to wait and see who can take over the role. It will be interesting to watch Sanjay Dutt in this role.
