Delhi: Son beats father to death over lack of water in house

New Delhi: Delhi police on Saturday arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly murdering his 75 year-old father in an inebriated condition. According to the police, accused identified as Chetan Kumar had earlier also tried to kill his father Rajkuar but family members intervened.

“A call was made to the police by a resident of Bindapur, claiming that a person has killed his father. Cops reached the spot and took the injured person to the hospital where doctors declared him brought dead. Later, during investigation, it was found that a person identified as Chetan had attacked the deceased after a verbal altercation,” a senior police official claimed.

According to the police, Rajkumar was beaten to death as there was no water in the house. “When Chetan reached his house he found that there is no water in the house. When he asked his father he said he couldn’t get the water. After that Chetan started thrashing him and when Rajkumar fell unconscious, he left the place,” police official added. Delhi police has arrested the accused after registering a case under section IPC 302(Murder).
