Madhuri Dixit Nene birthday special: These dance numbers will remain in our hearts forever! Mumbai: It is hard to believe that Madhuri Dixit Nene has turned 50 today. Yes, it’s a golden year of celebration for the most loved actress of Bollywood. She ain’t just a brilliant actress but an extremely graceful dancer as well. Even today she is known as the Dhak Dhak Girl of the industry.

She has ruled our hearts with her beautiful smile and of course, with some iconic dance numbers as well. Madhuri was born to Shankar and Snehlata Dixit on May 15, 1967. It is not that she excelled her dancing skills after joining the showbiz industry. But right from the age of three she desired to become a dancer and for those who don’t know, the birthday girl is a trained Kathak dancer.

Madhuri Dixit Nene came into our lives around mid eighties with the hit dance track Ek Do Teen from the film ‘Tezaab’ which released in 1988. Madhuri’s debut film in Bollywood was Rajshri Productions’ movie ‘Abodh’.

Even though the film did not work at the box office, it did capture Madhuri’s performance in the film. It was after a series of flop films, the diva attained success with the romantic thriller ‘Tezaab’ in which she was paired opposite Anil Kapoor. She played the character Mohini in the film which is remembered by many even today.

Madhuri Dixit Nene showed that she is the queen of contemporary dance in the number Kay Sera Sera from the film ‘Pukar’. Her classical dance in ‘Devdas’ was a craze amongst her fans. Pandit Birju Maharaj calls the diva “the best Bollywood dancer due to her versatility.” Movie critic Raja Sen calls the actress as an ‘exemplary dancer’. With time, she has only wowed us! Madhuri Dixit Nene is indeed any choreographer’s delight. On her 50th birthday, let’s take a look at some of her iconic dance numbers:
