Tubelight box office collection: Salman's film inching towards the Rs 100-crore mark Mumbai: Salman Khan's big Eid release Tubelight might have been unable to break the box-office records set by his previous films, but Kabir Khan's directorial venture is slowly inching towards the Rs 100-crore mark. After crossing the Rs 60-crore mark in its opening weekend, the film continued to create magic at the box office on Eid.

If reports are to be believed, Tubelight collected yet another Rs 22.50 crore on Monday, taking the total to Rs 82.27 crore.

Here is the day-to-day breakdown of Tubelight box-office collection:

Day 1 - Friday (June 23) - Rs 21.15 crore

Day 2 - Saturday (June 24) - Rs 21.17 crore

Day 3 - Sunday (June 25) - Rs 22.45 crore

Day 4 - Monday (June 26) - Rs 22.50 crore (approx)

Approximate four-day box-office collection of Tubelight: Rs 82.27 crore

Despite Tubelight being panned by critics, Salman seems unperturbed. In an interview to IANS, he said, "The critics were really good. I was expecting minus 3 and minus 4 but they gave 1, 1.5 apparently, so I am very pleased."

Tubelight, directed by Kabir Khan, is an official remake of the 2015 American war drama Little Boy. Salman plays the simpleton Laxman, whose only goal is to bring his brother, Bharat (Sohail Khan), back home. Bharat was selected in the Indian Army and set to the border to fight against the Chinese forces in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

The film also features Zhu Zhu, Matin Rey Tangu and late actor Om Puri in pivotal roles.
