Fresh heat on Lalu Prasad as ED raids daughter Misa Bharti's farmhouse in Delhi New Delhi: Sleuths of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday searched a Delhi farm house of RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s daughter, Misa Bharti, in connection with a corruption case, a day after a series of raids on properties linked to the former Bihar chief minister.

A senior official of the financial crime probe agency said the searches were on at farm houe located at Ghitorni, on the outskirts of the capital.

Bharti, a Rajya Sabha MP, was also likely to questioned, the official added. She was quizzed last month by Income Tax officials for more than five hours in connection with an over Rs 1,000-crore benami (proxy) land deals case.

Lalu Prasad and his family members are accused of acquiring prime property across states through dubious deals, a charge he denies.

The fresh raid could put more pressure on Lalu Prasad who was once jailed for corruption in the fodder scam that took place when he was the chief minister of Bihar.

On Friday, CBI investigators on Friday raided 12 places across the country, including his Patna home, over alleged irregularities in awarding of tenders for hotel maintenance when he was the railways minister.

Prasad, his wife Rabri Devi and their son Tejashwi, who is the deputy chief minister of Bihar, are named in the case.

Lalu has termed the raids as political vendetta by the BJP-led government at the Centre.
