Buxar DM Mukesh Pandey found dead at Ghaziabad railway station, suicide suspected Ghaziabad: Mukesh Pandey, district magistrate of Buxar allegedly committed suicide at Ghaziabad railway station on Thursday night. His severed body was discovered on rail track near yard. According to GRP, a suicide note was also found through which his identity was discovered.

Ghaziabad GRP SHO Somvir Singh said that prima facie it seems that the IAS officer committed suicide by jumping in front of a moving train. "Body has been sent for post mortem which would be conducted on Friday," he said adding that a suicide note, purse and identity card of the deceased was recovered from the spot by the GRP.

Sources said that he flew to New Delhi on Thursday morning via Varanasi after giving his charge to Buxar deputy development commissioner (DDC) Mobin Ali Ansari and cited ailment of a close family member as the reason.

32-year-old Pandey was 2012 batch IAS officer and he was recently posted is Buxar as DM and according to sources had left the town two days ago.

"I am Mukesh Kumar Pandey, IAS, 2012 batch, posted as DM buxar. I am committing suicide of my own volition. After my death, inform my relatives," read the suicide note recovered by Ghaziabad GRP.

Sources also said that the deceased IAS officer had also posted a message on a WhatApp group of his friends that he was going to commit suicide.

Pandey was posted as DDC in Katihar district before being transferred to Buxar as district magistrate on July 31 in the massive administrative reshuffling made by the newly formed NDA government.

Sources said that Pandey had a three months old daughter.
