Hyderabad: Two budding actresses were rescued by Hyderabad Police from a prostitution racket being run by a five-star hotel on Sunday morning.
According to Task Force (North Zone) Inspector K Nageshwar Rao, police raided two hotels in Panjagutta and Banjara Hills last night and apprehended Monish K and Venkatesh, the alleged organisers of this racket.
On a tip-off that prostitution was going in a room at the hotel, North Zone cops raided and rescued the actresses. While one acted in a Telugu film, the other one is a Bengali TV serial actress.
He said that the two women, one from Mumbai and the other from Kolkata, rescued are actors.
The cops arrested the organisers of the sex racket including, Monish Kadakia, a casting director and event manager, a native of Gamdevi, Mumbai.
Monish also has a house in Hyderabad and Dabbera Venkat Rao of Guntur district helped Monish in organising the racket.
Another person named Janardhan Jani is absconding. The two were rescued from different rooms during the raid on the hotel in Banjara Hills. A total of Rs 55,000 in cash and several cell phones were seized from the rooms.
The two men have been booked under relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA)and further investigations were underway, the official said.
