'Bal Swatchhata Rath' to be launches by UP CM Yogi Adityanath in Varanasi Varanasi: "Bal Swatchhata Rath" to be launched by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath 9 am tomorrow at Circuit House Varanasi. Three vans will be launched for three Tehsils. Purpose is to inspect, clean and provide feedback of Anganwadi and School Toilets.

Each van will have 5 Safai Karmi, cleaning equipment/material, pamphlets for awareness and feedback form. If toilets found dirty, will be cleaned immediately. Feedback form indicating faults in toilets will be provided back to "ODF war-room" for corrective action within 7 days. "SHAME LETTER" will be issued to Pradhan, Secretary and Principal of school for improvement else face penal action.



The chief development officer Sunil Kumar Verma said that the swachhta raths will be operated under the supervision of District Swachhta Samiti in all three tehsils of the district.

CM also given kits to Mahila-Nigrani Samiti and Baal Nigrani Samiti. Children of Bal Nigraani Samiti will be provided with Hooters with Mike and siren facility, Whistles, Trek Suits and Caps.

Women of Mahila-Nigrani Samiti will be provided with Saree, Apron and Caps.

He said that the sanitary staff will ensure immediate cleaning of toilets if found dirty. They will distribute pamphlets among the children to motivate they for clean habits and sanitation. Stickers will be put on "Bal Swatchhata Rath" to attract the children and send them effective message. Besides, the shortcomings found in any school and anganwadi will be mentioned in the feedback paper and returned to the sanitation war room of the district for documentation.



"If shortcomings are found in schools and anganwadi we will issue 'Sharm Patra' to the gram pradhans, secretaries of the area and headmasters of the respective schools with an instruction to remove the shortcomings within a week,"said the CDO adding that punitive action would be initiated against them if they fail to follow the instruction.

Varanasi has total 760 Gram Panchayat and each one has Mahila-Nigrani Samiti of 10 women and Bal Nigraani Samiti of 10 children and Purush Nigraani Samiti of 10 men. Work of these samiti is to ensure that none with toilet goes outside for toilet.
