Foreign Sec Gokhale visits China, Masood Azhar evidence shared

Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale visited Beijing on April 22, 2019 for regular diplomatic consultations between India and China, with Executive Vice Foreign Minister of China, Le Yucheng and Vice Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou. They reviewed the progress made in India-China bilateral relations since the Informal Summit between Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping in April 2018 and discussed the agenda for bilateral engagement in the coming months. The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interest, including the Indo-Pacific. In response to media query on discussions with China on the 1267 Listing of JeM Leader Masood Azhar during Foreign Secretary’s recent visit to Beijing, Official Spokesperson said, ''We have shared with China all evidences of terrorist activities of Jaish-e-Mohammad and its leader Masood Azhar. It is now for the 1267 Sanctions Committee and other authorized bodies of the U.N. to take a decision on the listing of Masood Azhar. India will continue to pursue all available avenues to ensure that terrorist leaders who are involved in heinous attacks on our citizens are brought to justice.''
