Rakesh Tikait's Convoy Attacked In Rajasthan's Alwar

Jaipur: The convoy of Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) spokesperson Rakesh Tikait was attacked in Rajasthan's Alwar on Friday reportedly when the farm leader arrived at the district to attend a Mahapanchayat on contentious agri laws passed by the Centre last year.

As per reports, the incident took place in Tatarpur village of Rajasthan's Alwar district.

Soon after the incident, Tikait took to Twitter and share the a video of a damaged car, alleging that it was goons of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who carried out the attack on his convoy.

"Tatarpur intersection of Alwar district of Rajasthan, Bansur road, attacked by BJP goons, death of democracy," Tikait tweeted.

Reportedly the attack took place when Tikait along with his supporters and other leaders was heading to Bansur after addressing a gathering in Harsora.

It is also being reportedly that ink was thrown on the BKU leader and attack even shattered the windows of his car. Tikait has been spearheading the 4-month long farmers' protest against the Modi government and is adamant over its rollback.

Hundreds of thousands of farmers have been camping against the agri laws since last four months at various Delhi borders. Last month, the Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) said that the protesting farmers will march to the Parliament on foot in May. Farmer leaders also announced their plans to block the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal expressway for 24 hours on April 10.

Inacted in September 2020, Centre claims that the three agri laws will bring major reforms in the agriculture sector paving way to remove the middlemen and allow farmers to sell their produce anywhere across the country.
