Syndicate Bank IFSC Code Will Change From July 1

New Delhi: If you have been using the IFSC codes and cheque books of Syndicate Bank, then it's time to note that both will become invalid from July. The customers of Syndicate Bank have been told to update their Bank Branch’s IFSC code by 30 June.

The present e-Syndicate Bank Cheque book with old MICR and IFSC will remain valid up to June 30, 2021, as per the Canara Bank tweet.

"Dear customer, replace e-syndicate cheque book and cheques issued to the third party as validity for presentation expires on 30.06.2021," Canara Bank said.

"All the IFSC starting with SYNB will be disabled W.E.F 01.07.2021," Canara Bank said.

How to retrieve the new IFSC code?

Customers should be aware that the new IFSC code will start with CNRB instead of SYNB. One also needs to add 10000 to their existing IFSC code number. Existing customers of Syndicate Bank can obtain details of the new IFSC and MICR code by visiting the following link - canarabank.com/IFSC.html - or by visiting any Canara Bank branch.

You can go to 'What's New' and click on 'KIND ATTN eSYNDIATE CUSTOMERS: KNOW YOUR NEW IFSC'. You can also contact the customer care of Canara Bank on 18004250018 to get the details. 

Apart from this, the customer care of Canara Bank can also be contacted on 18004250018.

Even the swift code of erstwhile Syndicate Bank (SYNBINBBXXX)which is used for sending or receiving SWIFT messages for Foreign Exchange transactions shall be discontinued from July 1, 2021. All customers are advised to use the SWIFT code (CNRBINBBBFD)for any of their foreign exchange needs. 

After its merger with Syndicate Bank, Canara Bank emerged as the fourth largest state-owned bank by assets.
