Newly-wed girl gangraped in front of husband

Jamshedpur: In a shocking incident, a newly- wed girl was gangraped by eight men in front of her husband when they were out for a walk in park here last evening.

The couple, Shekh Nasir and his wife, had come from Purulia district of West Bengal to visit their relatives in Barinagar here.

'' At around 1600 hrs yesterday, they went for an outing in Theme park at Telco area, where one man intercepted them near the security tower of the park. On the pretext of calling the police, the man called his other seven friends and raped the girl.

'' They tied Nasir with ropes and then one-by-one raped his wife for five hours,'' a police official said.

The couple got married three months ago.

A case had been registered against eight people and a man named Kasim was arrested in this connection.

A search was on to nab other culprits.
