Ambani Bomb Threat Case: Sachin Vaze Gets Suspended Delhi Mumbai top cop and encounter specialist Sachin Vaze got suspended after being probed in the Mukesh Ambani bomb scare case and has been sent on remand till February 25th. NIA has been interrogating Sachin Vaze since Friday and sources have revealed that the officer has revealed some names of Shiv Sena leaders citing their involvement in the case. NIA is also investigating the angle if he was present at the spot on the day of the incident.

NIA suspects that the man seen in the CCTV cameras of the local shop wearing a PPE suit was Sachin Vaze. However, it has not been confirmed if it was the Mumbai cop on the site.

Sources have also clarified the NIA has not found any link to any terrorist group in the case. It was earlier anticipated that the case was linked to Indian Mujaheddin found a phone in Tihar from which the Telegram message threatening Mukesh Ambani was shared. But sources have confirmed that police couldn't find any link to the terrorist group.

According to sources, the arrested police inspector Sachin Vaze told the NIA during the investigation that he was a very small part of the plan and the Shiv Sena leaders named by him played a major role.

“I am a piece of iceberg in this case,” he told the investigators.

Sources have also confirmed that Vaze has revealed the involvement of other Mumbai Police officers in the case.

The case was handed over to the NIA after the mysterious death of a Thane-based businessman Mansukh Hiran, who had claimed that the vehicle had been stolen a week earlier. His body was found in a creek at Thane on March 5.

Hiren's wife had claimed that her husband had given the SUV to Vaze in November, which the officer returned in the first week of February.

During his questioning by the ATS, Vaze had denied using the SUV that was in possession of Hiran.

Vaze has been booked under Section 120 (B) for criminal conspiracy, Section 286 for negligent conduct with respect to explosive substance, Section 465 for forgery, Section 473 for making or possessing counterfeit seal and Section 506(2) for criminal intimidation.
