According to the sources, Twitter in its response to the legal notice, has told the Ghaziabad police that it has nothing to do with the Loni case and, it is not interested in talking about the same. The social media giant has also asked the police to make some changes in the legal notice.
Sources aware of the development in the matter have informed that the Ghaziabad police is not satisfied with the replies of the Managing Director of Twitter, and it is preparing to send a notice to the social media platform again.
On June 5, the 72-year-old Sufi Abdul Samad Saifi was reportedly thrashed by six people. The assailants allegedly beat him and also chopped off his beard. A video of the attack went viral on social media a few days later and was shared by many.
Five accused -- Kalloo Gurjar, Parvesh Gurjar, Adil, Intezaar and Saddam alias Bauna -- have been arrested so far in connection with the attack on Saifi. The police officials have maintained that the incident took place because the accused were unhappy over the 'tabeez' (amulets) sold to them by Saifi. The police also ruled out any communal angle in the episode.
