London: It might be a little close for comfort, but Rihanna appears to have dug out the skeletons from her closest for latest video We Found Love.
The Russian Roulette singer seems to allude to her abusive relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, casting a male lead who looks similar to the RnB star.
While there are no gratuitous scenes of violence, the guy does grab the Barbadian beauty and inks the word 'mine' on her derriere.
The video ends when a pushed-to-the-limit Rihanna gathers the strength to leave the dysfunctional relationship.
In February 2009, Rihanna's scheduled performance at the 2009 Grammy Awards was cancelled the Daily Mail reported.
Reports later surfaced regarding an alleged altercation with then-boyfriend, Chris Brown, who was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats.
The following month he was charged with assault and making criminal threats.
During the court case in June, Brown pleaded guilty and received five years probation and ordered to stay fifty yards away from Rihanna, unless at public events, when it was reduced to ten yards.
British model Dudley O'Shaughnessy takes centre stage as the love interest, with the pair now believed to be dating in real life.
Their romance blossomed after Rihanna hand-picked Dudley to star in the video, with the chemistry between the new couple clear to see as they cuddle up on camera.
But from kissing and making love, the duo's relationship takes a turn for the worse - turning abusive, scary and upsetting.
Talking about the video, Rihanna tweeted today: 'We’ve never done a video like this before.
'This is probably one of the deepest videos I’ve ever done. It’s all about love and love being like a drug… you definitely get that from this.
'The good feeling of it and the dangers of it. That’s what this video is about.'
The video opens with Rihanna, putting on an Irish accent, narrating the beginning of the story, saying: 'I saw you screaming when no-one can hear. You always feel ashamed that someone could be that important that without them, you feel like nothing.
'No one will ever understand how much it hurts. You feel hopeless, like nothing can save you. Then when it's over, it's gone, you almost wish you could have all that bad stuff back, so that you can have the good.'
Rihanna and London-born former boxer Dudley are then seen going headfirst into a passionate, physical relationship - unable to bear to be apart from one another for even a second.
Smoking cigarettes, that appear to be marijuana, and drinking alcohol, their relationship involves going on a rollercoaster as they indulge in fairground rides, raves and passionate outdoor romps.
In fact, it was these romps which caused 61-year-old farmer Alan Graham to ask Rihanna to leave his field, after being shocked at the antics going on between the singer and Dudley.
The devout Christian farmer said at the time: 'If someone wants to borrow my field and things become inappropriate, then I say, "Enough is enough".
'I wish no ill will against Rihanna and her friends. Perhaps they could acquaint themselves with a greater God.'
After getting up close and personal with Dudley in her car, Rihanna is then seen running through the field topless in another scene from the We Found Love video.
But things start to go wrong for the couple as they love for each other becomes all-consuming, leading to violent arguments and fights.
The video ends with Rihanna curled up in the corner of the room alone as the ballad draws to an end.
Rihanna is said to have set her sights on sportsman Dudley after handpicking him to appear in the video.
A source told The Sun: 'Rihanna was making no secret that she fancied the pants off Dudley. They hit it off straight away.
'She had seen his modelling shots and other pictures when he was a boxer. Rihanna took every opportunity to get close to him and at one point she was sitting in his lap during a break from filming.
'She's very tactile anyway, but this was something else.'
The East Londoner, 21, quit the sport after cashing in on his unique looks and signing to Next Model Management.
The insider added: 'Dudley was giggling like a schoolboy when she had to shoot a scene in a see-through top. She was teasing him with a peek at her cleavage and winking at him.'
We Found Love is the lead single from Rihanna's upcoming album Talk That Talk, due for release on November 21.
