NY: Anne Hathaway may radiate old Hollywood charm, but she had a very contemporary problem at the Dec. 10 Les Miserables premiere in New York City: she skipped wearing underwear on the red carpet and flashed photographers as she was leaving her SUV!
Anne, 30, got a lot of attention for her bondage-inspired outfit when she arrived at the Ziegfeld Theatre. But it seems she was unaware that she was revealing WAY too much skin.
Considering all of the shocking wardrobe malfunctions that celebrities have suffered on the red carpet through the years, you would think that Anne would have taken precautions to avoid such an embarrassing — and obvious — gaffe. Unfortunately, she might need to look in the mirror one more time each day before she leaves the house. She will definitely need to wear underwear or a thong before she goes out in the future!
A source close to Anne told HollywoodLife.com, Anne is “temporarily horrified” but that wearing underwear would have “affected the wear of the dress.” Tough choice!
Anne recently spoke to our sister site Deadline.com about the thrill of singing in Les Miserables.
“I found it liberating to sing on camera,” she said. “On stage, you have to indicate having a thought, and the word you are singing must indicate it as well, but on camera, you can have ideas, you can take in all the stimuli that the character would be taking in, there’s a freedom you get, and you don’t have the obligation to transmit each idea to the back of the house. It felt so much closer to reality for me.”
