London: Katie Price and hubby Kieran Hayler are celebrating their one month anniversary — with the news they are having a BABY.
And last night the model said of the revelation she is expecting her fourth child: “It’s come as a shock.”
Sun columnist and mum-of-three Katie, whose builder husband is nine years her junior, added: “I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous because I’ve experienced miscarriages in the past.
“But we’re all over the moon. The baby wasn’t part of our plan at this stage but anyone who knows me knows I’m not one for sticking to rules and plans.”
Besotted Katie, 34, and Kieran, 25 — whose first child will arrive towards the end of the summer — have been inseparable since a whirlwind Christmas romance ended in marriage on a beach in the Bahamas last month.
Katie had only been back home a few weeks before experiencing morning sickness symptoms.
The mum-to-be — who has Junior, seven, and Princess Tiaamii, five, from her marriage to Peter Andre, and ten-year-old Harvey by former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke — said: “I haven’t actually been sick yet but I’m already starting to feel it.
“I’m having to lie down a fair bit because my stomach feels like a washing machine.”
Katie is coy when asked where the baby was conceived but friends say it was some time over Christmas and New Year. It may even have been before their wedding at the Sandals Royal Bahamian Resort and Spa.
The businesswoman recently sat her other children down and told them about her pregnancy.
She said: “I’m aware it has to be handled carefully, like a new pregnancy does with any older kids. But they know it won’t change my love for them.
“And they’re excited that a new brother or sister is on the way.”
Part-time stripper Kieran, who got his kit off in EastEnders, is quickly adjusting to his new role as a father-to-be and stepfather to three other children.
He told The Sun: “I can’t wait to see Kate bloom throughout the pregnancy. But most of all, I’m excited at the prospect of settling down with her and bringing up a family.
“I fell head over heels in love with Kate and that feeling hasn’t changed. The more I get to know her and her kids, the more I feel honoured to be part of the family.”
Katie also revealed her mum Amy has come round to the idea of another grandchild.
She said: “My mum is like any other, so of course she was worried at first because everything happened so fast. But now she loves Kieran and thinks he’ll make a great dad to all the kids.”
Katie revealed her mum is “especially impressed” by the way he’s taken to Harvey, who is partially blind and autistic. She explained: “Kieran is so patient and kind. We went to stay with some friends and Harvey got really upset, as he often does if he hears a loud noise.
“It was only a door slamming but he began banging his head on a wall and getting distressed.
“Kieran immediately went to Harvey’s side and began reassuring him, pointing out where the noise had come from.
“He’s really doting on the other kids too. That convinced my family he’ll be a great dad.” The Sun recently told how he proposed over a romantic Christmas dinner.
Katie, who split from Argentine model fiancé Leandro Penna in October, faced criticism over marriage No 3 — she previously tied the knot with Andre and cagefighter Alex Reid, 37.
But Katie joked at the time: “It’s only my third one. I did my own Pricey marriage survey and discovered I was in good company. Joan Collins has been married five times, Liz Taylor did eight and Zsa Zsa Gabor nine.”
She also told how a psychic predicted the pairing. Katie said: “A medium said the man I’d marry was called Kevin. Kieran’s close to Kevin and it all became clear.”
Back then she added: “He is a true gentleman who treats me like a princess. He’s a normal guy, he works hard and the kids love him. It just feels right.”
Last night Katie said: “I’m used to people judging me so I don’t care what anyone thinks — life’s too short to waste time on that. This feels right. I can’t wait to have my fourth child with Kieran.” # Source: The Sun.co.uk
