Australian Odia Samaj Welcomes Opening of Medical Facility for Visa Seekers in Bhubaneswar
New Delhi: Odia samaj in Australia (ORIOZ. INC.) has recently been successful in installing Medical Test Facility for Australia bound Visa applicants in Bhubaneswar. Experts attribute this as a milestone achievement for Orioz. Earlier Australian Visa seekers of Odisha including senior citizens use to go to other states for clearing mandatory Medical examinations. Leaders of Orioz have been pressing on Australian Government to identify a Medical Test Centre in Bhubaneswar since a long time. After considering fervent appeals from Orioz., a groundbreaking decision was taken by the current Australian immigration and citizenship Minister Tony Burke for the reinstallation of an Australian Medical panel in Bhubaneswar. After a series of independent assessments spanning over two months, the Health Policy and Assurance Branch of the Australian immigration and citizenship Ministry recommended GEN X Diagnostics, Chandrasekharpur Branch in Bhubaneswar to provide Medical Panel services required for Australian Visa. With this recommendation the Hon’ble Minister Tony Burke has approved this facility as a new addition to the list of Panels available in India. Now Odias immigrating or visiting their families in Australia can have their Medical Tests for Australian Visas done in Gen X Diagnostics at Bhubaneswar without undergoing strenuous travels to outside the State.

In a joint statement, top leaders of Orioz, President Dr Manoj Nayak and Vice President Hara Patro heartily welcomed the historic decision of Australian Government. They expressed their deep sense of satisfaction and overwhelming joy over materialising this Herculean task and conquering such remarkable feet after nearly Two and half years of continuous persuasions and high-level negotiations with two successive Australian immigration Ministers, Andrew Giles and Tony Burke. ”While this is a very welcome news for Odias to avail this facility in capital city Bhubaneswar, Gen X Diagnostics may soon become a hub for Australian visa aspirants of neighbouring states including Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and West Bengal”, they added.

It may be mentioned here that a Cuttack based clinic was entrusted medical tests for Australian Visa applicants during 2000 to 2010. However, the facility was discontinued in 2010 because of the lack of advanced diagnostics methodologies. With closure of Cuttack clinic Odia Visa seekers were being forced to travel cities like Kolkata, Hyderabad and other places to undertake visa related tests in centres nominated by Australian Immigration Department. Mentioning that it was a priority project for the current executive council of ORIOZ., Dr Manoj Nayak said this achievement has taken Orioz to a new height of identity and enhanced its image as a community organization having significant contributions to the multicultural fabric of Australia.

Observing that a long-cherished dream came true, Hara Patro, exuded confidence that opening up of Medical Test Centre at Bhubaneswar will provide much needed solace to thousands of Odia Australian visa applicants. “This awesome accomplishment of Orioz Australia will undoubtedly serve as a model for others to emulate and an ideal source of motivation for the Odia Diaspora worldwide”, claim Dr Nayak and Shri Patro.

Lauding the noble initiative of Orioz., the Director of Gen X Diagnostics Sunil Kumar Rout assured that the Testing centre will extend fullest co–operation and required amenities to the Australian Visa seekers.
