Sixty one years old Dr Mishra was born on 31st March 1964 in Rukunadeiipur village of Sadar Block in Keonjhar district of Odisha.Dr Mishra was educated and got settled in Mumbai. Coming from a humble background his father Khetrabasi Mishra is an agriculturist and Mother Suryamani Mishra is a housewife. Married to celebrated social activist Dr Sukanti Mishra on 27th February 1989, Dr Mishra has two daughters namely Air India Pilot Shelbi Mishra and Research Scientist Shivani Mishra.

Bearer of an excellent academic career Dr Mishra holds a Diploma in Electronics Engineering and B.E. Degree in Electronics from Navy under Ministry of Defence, Government of India. Recognising his exemplary contribution to Society, Dr Mishra was awarded Doctorate by international Open University for complementary medicines based in Sri Lankan Capital Colombo.
