Bihar Elections 2025 Tej Pratap Yadav to contest from Mahua

In a major political development ahead of the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, Tej Pratap Yadav’s party, Janshakti Janta Dal (JJD), has announced its first list of 21 candidates. The party made the declaration official on Monday. According to the official announcement, Tej Pratap Yadav will contest from his traditional stronghold Mahua Assembly seat. The party said it aims to field "energetic and clean-image candidates" who can connect with the youth and grassroots voters.

It is noteworthy that after being expelled from the RJD, Tej Pratap formed a new party named Janshakti Janta Dal. He is now announced to contest the elections on his own and has openly adopted a rebellious stance against his family. This clearly indicates that he could cause significant damage to the RJD in the upcoming elections.

Tej Pratap Yadav recently made headlines after expressing anger towards his younger brother and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav. The rift surfaced after Tejashwi, in a public statement, alleged that Tej Pratap had fielded candidates against RJD's official nominees even while being part of the party. Reacting sharply to the remark, Tej Pratap said, "He is my younger brother so he should understand who is Ram and who is Lakshman... He should observe propriety and respect his elder brother... Anyway, I am not paying attention to these things... Whatever he is doing, he must be doing with his own wisdom and understanding."
