Los Angeles: Kristen Stewart's mom is changing her tune. Jules Stewart has clarified her recent comments to Britain's Sunday Mirror about her daughter's relationship with her personal assistant, Alicia Cargile.
"I spoke to Sharon Feinstein about my film K-11 that has been put on display in the Hollywood Museum," she told Us Weekly Monday.
“It’s currently there under the LGBT banner on the third floor. She also asked me about my views on gay rights, which I was happy to express. Then we talked briefly about the fundraiser I am hosting for TheWolfConnection.org. Never ever did we discuss Kristen!”
“I said, ‘Yes, she’s a lovely girl,’” Jules said she responded to the interviewer when asked if she knew Cargile.
The "Twilight" star's mom allegedly had confirmed to the publication that Stewart and Cargile were indeed an item.
"I've met Kristen's new girlfriend, I like her. What's not to accept? She's a lovely girl," Jules was quoted in the Mirror.
"I feel like people need to be free to love whoever they want. I accept my daughter loves women and men," she allegedly added.
"It's OK to be who you are in my world. We all choose our friends so we should be free to choose our lovers."
There has been rumors swirling around for months about Stewart and Cargile after they were photographed kissing and walking hand-in-hand together.
Meanwhile, Stewart's longtime ex-flame, Robert Pattinson, is engaged to British pop singer FKA Twigs.
Stewart and Pattinson ended their on-again, off-again relationship in tumultuous fashion in May 2013 after Stewart was caught kissing married director Rupert Sanders, whom she worked with on "Snow White and the Huntsman" in July 2012.
