Pakistan PM Imran Khan Goes In Self-Isolation  Delhi: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday went into self-isolation after he underwent a test for COVID-19. The report of his test that was conducted at Tuesday night is expected within 24 hours. Imran Khan had decided to undergo the test after his interaction with a well known philanthropist of the country Faisal Edhi.

Edhi is the son of late philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi and chairman of the Edhi Foundation. He had met Khan last week.

Faisal Edhi had met Prime Minister Khan to hand over a Rs 10 million cheque for the premier's coronavirus relief fund. The Edhi Foundation was founded by the late Abdul Sattar Edhi and is the leading charity organisation in Pakistan.

Even though the meeting between Faisal Edhi and Imran Khan was only 7-minute-long, doctors recommended Khan to get tested.

Khan went into self quarantine as the protocols recommend self-isolation for people who meet those tested positive for the coronavirus. It is not clear how Khan will run the government after going into quarantine.

Pakistan on Wednesday reported 9749 countrywide cases with 209 deaths.

Pakistani newspaper Dawn reported on Tuesday quoting Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital CEO Faisal Sultan, who is also Khan's personal physician, as saying that that the premier was "currently occupied with a cabinet meeting" but "as soon as he is finished", he will recommend that he "gets tested and follow all the protocols in place".

Faisal however, according to his son who spoke to the Dawn newspaper, is in self-isolation and his health remains fine.

He has donated Rs 1 crore to the Prime Minister Imran Khan fund for Pakistan's fight against the pandemic.

The Edhi foundation is also helping the coronavirus victims in their burial services.
