IMSc celebrates 60 years with special release of science magazines for children

New Delhi: The Institute of Mathematical Sciences (IMSc), Chennai celebrated it's 60th anniversary on Jan 3, 2022. Former directors and members of the faculty spoke of their reminiscences. To commemorate the long association of institute with the Tamil Nadu science Forum's science outreach efforts, special volumes of children's science magzines Thulir and Jantar Mantar were released on the occasion.
A year-long programme of research conferences, science heritage lectures and outreach activities is planned. The institute's recently set up "Centre for Science Communication and Mathematics Education" will further strengthen and diversify it's science out reach activities targeted at students, teachers at all levels and the general public.
This centre hopes to work closely with various local stakeholders and will explore funding for its activities from CSR of Private companies as well.
