Fresh batch of pilgrims leave for Amarnath

Fresh batch of pilgrims leave for Amarnath Jammu: Amid tight security, a fresh batch of 58 pilgrims today left for the cave shrine of Amarnath in the south Kashmir Himalayas.

The batch comprising 32 men and 26 women left in two vehicles from Bhagwati Nagar base camp here at 4:45 AM, a police official said.

The pilgrims would arrive at the twin base camps of Pahalgam and Baltal by this evening, he said.

Till yesterday, 3,50,078 pilgrims paid obeisance at the cave of Lord Shiva.

With today's batch, 48,760 pilgrims have so far left from the Jammu base camp for the shrine.
