Sahitya Akademi announces Yuva Puraskar & Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2019 in Maithili

New Delhi: Sahitya Akademi is happy to announce awarding the Sahitya Akademi Yuva Puraskar 2019 in Maithili to Amit Pathak for the book Raag-Upraag (Poetry) and Bal Sahitya Puraskar 2019 to Rishi Bashistha for the book Ee Phoolak Guldasta (Stories).

The books were selected on the basis of recommendations made by the Jury comprising of three members each in the concerned language in accordance with the rules and procedure laid down for the purpose. According to the procedure, the awards were declared on the basis of unanimous/majority vote by the Jury. The names of the Jury members on whose recommendations the awards were declared are given below:

Bal Sahitya Puraskar

3.    Sri Ajeet Azad

Yuva Puraskar
1.    Dr. Chandramani Jha
2.    Shri Lakshman Jha
3.    Shri Shyam Darihare

The Award in the form of a casket containing an engraved copper-plaque and a cheque of Rs.50,000/- will be presented to the awardees at special functions to be held at later dates.
