Bengaluru's Sahakar Nagar Temple Celebrates Niladri Bije Festival
New Delhi: Bengaluru’s Sahakar Nagar Jagannath Temple hosted Car Festival, Return Journey, gold ornamentation and Niladri Bije ceremonies with festive fervour and massive fanfare. The Mega Celebrations were organised by Shri Jagannath Seba Trust. The Temple at Amco Layout, Sahakaranagar in North Bengaluru was aesthetically and elegantly decorated befitting to the Grand Occasion. On the Rath Yatra day commencing from the wee hours special religious rituals were performed in front of the Four Deities in the morning in a pious and solemn ambience by main Priest Ranjan Panda. Thousands of Odias and non – Odia devotees along with their family and relatives descended here to take part in the holy fair. In the afternoon four Idols were taken in a grand procession to the colourfully decked up chariot parked in front of the temple. The Designated King Raju Anna conducted the traditional sweeping in front of chariot called Chherra Pahanra. Then the long awaited and most sought after process of pulling up of chariot commenced. The whole atmosphere got reverberated with the lyrical sounds of Bhajan, Kirtan, chanting of hymns, raising of slogans like Hari Bol, Jai Jagannath and playing of musical instruments like Ghanta, Kartala, Cymbals, Jhanja and Mrudanga.This Year’s Rath Yatra evoked unexpected interest, unusual enthusiasm and unprecedented excitements among both the Organisers and Participants. The Scene of devotees earning lifetime fortune by just having a holy glimpse of Gods and Goddess on board the Chariot was miraculous and mind blowing. The 25 ft. High chariot beautifully cladded with attractive pipli appliqués and alluring flowers was pulled up till 1.5 km and then taken back to the premises of the temple. The moving sight of Lord of the Universe sitting atop the Royal chariot in His majestic style during the sojourn on the streets of Bengaluru was momentous, mesmerising and memorable. After reaching in front of the temple idols were decorated with golden attire called Suna Besa and offered Adharpana on 6th and 7th July respectively. Today Niladri Bije Festival was celebrated with much pomp and splendour. The Deities were taken back to the Temple from the Chariot in Dhadi Pahandi and then placed on the gem Studded Altar by the servitors. The Trinities were offered Rasagolla as special Bhog today during the celebration of World Rasagolla Day.
 
The entire arrangements of the Twelve Days long Rath yatra Festival were well managed and smoothly conducted with the supervision of able Organisers of Shri Jagannth Seba Trust like Founder Member Nilamani Behura, President Bisnucharan Rout, Secretary Jitendra Rout, Managing Trustees Babru Bahan Biswal, Sanjay Kumar Rout, Members like Pratap Kumar Panda, Subrat Kumar Sahu, Nirad Kumar Swain, Kartik Chandra Nayak, Sunil Padhi, Rajesh Maharana, Sankarjeet Pattnaik, Chinmaya Kumar Jena, Rupes Maharana, Sidharth Samantray, Samir Samantray, Biswojit Mishra, Prangya Mohanty, Nabin Kishore Nahak, Satyaranjan Pattnaik, Priyabrata Samal and Manas Ranjan Sahoo.
