New Delhi: 25th Annual Ganesh Festival concluded at Vikaspuri in West Delhi with much pomp and massive fanfare.The worship pandal and cultural stage here were aesthetically and elegantly decorated befitting to the grand Celebration. The installation of the Mangala Murti was consecrated in the afternoon by the Pujari Raghunath Rath Amidst devotional and spiritual atmosphere. At around 2:30 pm, hundreds of Odia and non-Odia devotees from the national capital region along with their families and relatives offered floral tributes at the feet of Knowledge God. Organised by Shri Ganesh Puja Committee, Odia Samaj, unusual interest, unexpected enthusiasm and unprecedented excitement were witnessed among the members of organizing committee, volunteers and general public during this year's festival.
Addressing the gathering Chief Guest, Chairman of Arya Hospital Dr. Manish Singh congratulated the organizing committee for regularly hosting the annual Ganesh Puja in Vikaspuri by turning it into a mass festival and wished that this great tradition should continue in future. Among other Distinguished Guests like Secretary of the Jagannath Temple Management Committee, Sector 121, Noida, Dr. Manoranjan Mohanty, President of Kalinga Veer Seva Sangh Manoj Sahoo and Head of Jeevanjyoti Hospital Dr. Vinayak Prasad, have highly appreciated the hosting of this festival in such a huge scale.
The Highlight of this year’s Festival was presentation of a colourful cultural extravaganza. Among the evening’s notable presentations include folk and light music recital by the members of Sur Malhar group and mythological dances performed by the Ravi Mahakaal troupe. The solo classical dance by Ruchismita and the Sambalpuri folk dance by Prachi, Varsha and Pragya Parimita were of very high order and were well received by the audiences. The cultural programme was well co-ordinated and ably conducted by the founder of the Puja Committee and President of Mahakankhya Foundation, Pushpanjali Barik. Prominent Personalities present included Tennis Star Dilip Mohanty, Dr Rajni Ranjan Mohanty, Anil Jena, Surendra Manik, Sudhansu Sahoo, Pratap Sahoo, Sumant Biswal, Santosh Raut, Madhu Das, Ranjita Das, Manoj Das, Prashant Behera and Pramod Bhal. Founder President of Shri Ganesh Puja Committee , Bimal Bhal, played a key role in skilfully organizing and successfully concluding the entire festival. Idol of Lord Ganesh was taken to the banks of the Yamuna river at Wazirabad on the next day by the volunteers and members of the organization amidst much fanfare and DJ music and immersed the Deity in a ritualistic ceremony.
